...adding to my Previous Post


From a English/Language Arts teacher's perspective, the integration Casada and DeShazer described from the guest lectures was my FAVORITE aspect of this learning model.  Not only is this model highly integrated with speaking, writing, and oral communication, but the designers and instructors have also brought in the real world connections that are detremental (especially to a freshman course) so that students will stay motivated for the long road (often Engineering programs are 5 year programs).  

I learned something yesterday, that fits really well with the example used by Casada and DeShazer.  Scientists study problems that occur in nature and Engineers fix them.
This is short and simple, but it really helped me wrap my mind around the different roles students must take on as they plan their livelihood.
